Rebutia
The Rebutia genus is named for Monsieur P. Rebut, a French cactus enthusiast. Species are characterized by small, globose or flattened-globose forms with poorly defined ribs and variable spines. Indeed, the genus itself is highly variable and often strongly contested by taxonomists as to the correct categorization.
In the wild, cacti are endemic to the hills and mountains of Argentina and Bolivia, and usually develop a clumping form (1).
