Our Plants
Euphorbiaceae
Euphorbiaceae, dubbed the "spurge family", is a very large and diverse group of flowering plants, united by the formation of "cyathia" inflorescences, and exudation of milky-white, toxic sap upon wounding. Species are located worldwide, being herbs, shrubs, and trees, but occasionally are succulent and cactus-like in form. A popular genus, Euphorbia, boasts a strong similarity to Cactaceae through convergent evolution (1, 2, 3).
