Sixth Street Greenhouse Conservatory

We currently have two greenhouses on campus. Both are located on the 6th floor of the 6th street garage. We use one greenhouse for the propagation and production of our houseplants, desert plants and tropical plants. Our other greenhouse is a showcase of the Mark Dimmitt Desert Plant Conservatory Project and displays a variety of cacti and succulents kept in a controlled environment. This greenhouse supplies the cacti for the USS Arizona Memorial located on the mall, and is dedicated to the renowned botanist, Mark Dimmitt.

The Desert Plant Conservatory Project is designed to help us further our education goals, and is open to the public. Free tours of the greenhouse will soon be publicly available, and can be arranged through email. Sign up for the Arboretum newsletter to stay in touch!

Finally, learn more about Mark Dimmitt and the Conservatory by accessing the virtual tour!
